An interesting look behind the scenes at 30 Rock from the very beginning. I remember the comparisons at the time being with Studio 60, although I don’t agree with Carlock that Aaron Sorkin failed – I think both shows served (or in the case of 30 Rock, still serve) their purpose.

What I think started to happen fairly quickly is that we began to be compared favorably to Studio 60. Of course, Aaron Sorkin is one of the best writers out there and that was what was fascinating about that show, was watching him try to do something that he couldn’t quite pull off.
