Song of the week: Katalyst – Say What You Feel
On this Australia Day long weekend, some Aussie music for a change.
Katalyst got a fair bit of attention (and rightly so) with his 2007 album What’s Happening. It’s interesting to see the transition from the turntablist-origins of his 2002 album Manipulating Agent to the point where he has guest collaborators coming out of his ears. It somewhat mirrors the works of DJ Shadow transitioning from his earlier solo albums to The Outsider (which split many of his fans, including myself). Unlike Shadow, this is Katalyst’s best album to date – supremely funky which is just the way I like it. How Bout Us is the standout track for mine, but sadly it’s not a single, so Say What You Feel will have to do.

Song of the week: Ween – Gabrielle
Ween are a little bit too hit-and-miss for my liking. Some of their songs, such as Gabrielle are awesome but a lot of their songs are just fricking weird. Anywho, here’s a fan-made video clip for the aforementioned Gabrielle.
